Dutch design studio Today Designers has created a book featuring sailors’ tales about the sea written by Menno Smit and Edwin de Voigt. It uses squid ink to produce a fishy smell that helps bring the stories to life.

‘Naar Inkt Vissen’ (‘Fishing For Ink’) has 48 pages of tales written in Dutch, accompanied by illustrations. Squid ink in a dip pen was used for the writers’ stories and illustrators’ drawings, with the unique publication then bound with solid fishing wire.
