Tim Rodgers: The Adaptive Storefront Prototype [Video]
+rehabstudio brings The Future of Retail report to life with a creative vision for responsive shopping displays.
Storefront windows don’t have to be a passive experience. Here at +rehabstudio, we prototyped an interactive digital display, that engages consumers by adapting its content to suit whoever stands in front of it.
Retailers who embed our custom-built code into their native application will enable their customers to interact with any of their brands’ storefronts and displays. Using Bluetooth low energy (BLE), the retail display will identify a shopper when they get within close proximity. It will instantly react to a set of personal data stored on their mobile device, such as the customer’s shopping habits and preferences, as well as real-time events such as news and weather, to personalize content and purchase opportunities.
Shoppers can access product information from the display, such as price, size and stock availability, and interact directly with it to swipe through a range of content, place items in a virtual shopping cart, and of course purchase. The display could be further developed to leverage additional retail trends, such as Instantly Verified (or frictionless) payments and On Demand Delivery, to streamline the payment and fulfillment process.
These displays could also be deployed outside the context of a store environment—street billboards, bus stop signs or car showrooms—creating Omni Point-of-Purchase opportunities wherever a customer encounters a product.
To move beyond novelty activations and one-time gimmicks, PSFK equips marketers with the insights, templates and analytics to develop high-reach campaigns that meet consumers in the moment, collect and build upon experiential data, and build scale through content creation.
