San Jose, California-based startup Truvolo has recently launched an Indiegogo campaign for its product the Truvolo Drive, a car-tracking device that connects to the car’s onboard computer and provides data that can help improve safety and operational efficiency.

The device comes with a smartphone app that connects to the device and Truvolo’s platform. The app collects data from the device and sends it to the mobile platform, which converts the data into useful information like speed, fuel consumption and efficiency, car location, and auto performance.

The car-tracking device can tell owners if the driver goes over the speed limit, if the car needs gas, or if it needs a maintenance check-up. The device sends alerts and notifications to the owner via the app.

The device is designed to give car owners peace of mind when they’re driving or when their loved ones are driving.
