Palantir provides Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor players with contextual information and personalized tips.

Warner Bros. teamed up with Wikia to introduce Palantir, an iOS app that uses audio-sync technology to grant Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor players detailed character biographies and mission walkthroughs. Similar to the way Shazam listens to your music and TV to provide up-to-the-moment content, Palantir keeps a digital ear open to recognize the game audio coming off your display and automatically retrieves helpful information from Wikia’s online community.

The interactive features of this intelligent app not only exemplifies the potential and importance of second screen experience to gaming, but it also shatters the negative image often associated with continual gaming because players are too busy to engage with other people.

The app is set for release later this month, and will be offered free of charge.
