The SolarCooler is a portable refrigeration system that relies on power from the sun to help keep food, drinks, and even medicine properly refrigerated.

Developed by Solar Cool Technologies, the SolarCooler has solar panels on top that harness solar energy and distribute the power to its refrigeration system, battery, and accessories. The portable cooler can keep beverages cold at 42° Fahrenheit for up to 18 hours. The cooler also has a charging port that allows users to charge their electronic devices and accessories.

The company is currently raising funds for the SolarCooler on Indiegogo. Part of the funds raised will go to the development of the medical version of the product that will make vaccine transport possible, especially in developing countries.

The retail price of the portable solar-powered cooler is $1,200, but backers can order their own SolarCooler for $950.
