Our inability to breathe underwater is one the biggest hurdles preventing us from exploring the cavernous ocean at greater lengths; but what if there was a piece of equipment that can supply us with an infinite amount of oxygen? Conceptualized by Jeabyun Yeon, the Triton Oxygen Respirator is an ergonomically designed regulator that would eliminate the need for bulky scuba diving gear and would enable swimmers to breathe effortlessly underwater.

It comprises two components: a plastic mouthpiece and two plastic extensions that simulate gills of a marine creature. The basic concept of this model is to extract oxygen from the water and convert it into breathable air. While you might have stumbled upon similar creations in spy movies or sci-fi novels, this respirator can be a pivotal point for mankind as we journey further into the unknown.
