Jalousier is a smart device that aims to save you time and money by adding your window dressing to the ever-expanding internet-of-things.

In another incremental step forward toward a fully connected home, Bulgarian start-up, Jalousier, is looking to automate your window blinds. The thinking behind the product is that current manual and motorized blinds are terribly inefficient and the average household wastes hundreds of kilowatt hours every year on unnecessary heating, cooling, and lighting.

Recently launched on Indiegogo, Jalousier aims to fix that. The unit is a small motorized box that quickly and easily clips onto most existing blinds and automatically adjusts the opening and slat position based on a variety of external factors including time of day, lighting, weather, and room temperature.
