In their "Then/Now" blog, the Luxton Brothers recreated old pictures from their childhood as a Christmas present to their mother.

Brothers Joe and Rich Luxton decided to give their a mother a somewhat unique Christmas present. Rather then perfume or jewelry, they gave her a calendar made up of photos of them as adults, recreating scenes from old family photographs.

We've seen artists practice nostalgia in similar ways, such as Chino Otsuka's Imagine Finding Me series, where she photoshopped herself into old photographs. On the Luxton brothers' blog, Then/Now, you can see the juxtaposition of original photographs with the startlingly similar recreations. The photographs are incredibly considered – with setting, costume and pose played out with wonderful precision. It is a sweet, touching and amusing ode to family, growing up and getting older.
