The Echo Project is an interactive digital companion for And The Mountains Echoed, the new book by author Khaled Hosseini.

A collaboration between the author, Penguin Books Canada, and agency Dare Toronto, The Echo Project offers a digital page of content inspired by each of the 402 pages in the novel. Each page on The Echo Project is a digital interpretation of the corresponding physical page of the novel.

The Echo Project includes pages presenting real-time weather displays, footage and interactive videos of Afghan culture, audio, and other types of content that complement the novel – helping the reader immerse himself or herself in story. Each digital page also includes the snippet from the physical page that inspired it.

The digital companion includes contributions from the author, from book editors, authors, artists, and media personalities. The project is still ongoing and invites readers to submit their own contributions to complete all 402 pages.
