Unsound is working with a perfumer to create a unique line of perfumes linked to various musicians.

What does music smell like? What is the odor of a bass line or the scent of a guitar solo? These questions may seem abstract, even ludicrous, but Unsound, the Polish music festival, is working on a line of music-inspired fragrances.

With the help of German perfumer Geza Schoen, the unusual-music festival has partnered with electronic artists Ben Frost, Tim Hecker, and Kode9 (real name Steve Goodman). The scents include Noise for Frost’s orchestral mash-ups, Drone for Hecker’s droning ambient tones, and Kode9’s low-end sounds.
