Tinder For Job Searching Matches Recruiters With Candidates
Recruiters can now simply swipe left or right to sort through job hunters.
Our thumbs are now well conditioned to the idea of swiping left to discard and right to say yes. With the success of Tinder, that user experience has now begun to infiltrate other aspects of our lives, such as job searching with the new app from TheLadders. The job-matching service already entered the mobile space with their app Job Search in 2013, which targets job seekers, allowing easy navigation of posted jobs and a ‘like’ button to inform recruiters of interest in a position.
TheLadders Recruiter, released in the App Store on March 14, 2014, provides a solution for the other side of the equation, allowing recruiters to quickly review candidates while on the go. Candidates are dismissed with a left swipe, although unlike Tinder, an ‘undo’ button appears in case of an over-eager thumb. Recruiters can also then review every candidate that they have seen in the desktop version. The app also allows for easy contact with job seekers; a simple swipe up on the profile reveals links to call, text, or email the candidate. Download the app for iOS for free here.
