Video Screen Tables See Diners Focusing On Anything But Eating
At the Ebony Interactive Restaurant in Dubai, the touchscreen tabletops are more important then the food.
While Pizza Hut may have unveiled a concept for an interactive tabletop, in Dubai there is a restaurant that is already making that concept into an everyday reality.
The Ebony Interactive Restaurant boasts a space filled with interactive screens for tables. Instead of ordering from waitresses or conversing with each other, diners are invited to order their meals and entertain themselves from the glass table.
The screens allow diners to browse the digital menu, order and even keep an eye on the chefs cooking their meal through the Chef Cam. Other features include quick access to Facebook, so that they can immediately update their status as to where they are, what they are eating and with whom.
