Scrolling through Instagram usually reveals endless images of gastronomic adventures – steaming dumplings, oozing donuts, and the list goes on. South African internet provider MWEB has collaborated with a local Mexican restaurant to launch the #dinnercam, a portable photo studio and light box designed to capture the best food shots for social media consumption.

Diners at El Burro can request to use #dinnercam upon entry and operate the system by syncing their mobile
via the specific MWEB WiFi. The mini-studio literally takes the shot to the next level, ensuring your followers get an extra dose of food envy, followed by some serious hunger pangs. The MWEB #dinnercam is one of the first instances of a restaurant embracing the food porn culture on Instagram, and shows how technology can be integrated positively into our everyday routines and gatherings.
