The 'Heart of the Community' initiative will support and activate places where the airline serves.

Southwest Airlines' new initiative, Heart of the Community, will revitalize and activate public spaces in the hearts of American cities. After successful pilot projects in Detroit and Providence, Southwest and the nonprofit organization Project for Public Spaces will help transform multiple places this year in cities the airline serves.

They will collaborate with local community partners in cities across the country to bring new life to their public spaces. For their most recent project in San Antonio, Texas, they partnered with the Center City Development Office to activate historic Travis Park through new physical amenities and ongoing programming, such as fitness classes and live music.
