Summer is around the corner and what better way to celebrate than a picnic in the park or a trip to the beach. Wherever you go, you likely pack a book, but it becomes hard to read when the wind starts blowing the pages or you become scared to turn them yourself after getting mayonnaise on your hands. You could bring along a paperweight, but this too can become a nuisance, since you have to reposition it every time your eyes reach the line it’s sitting on. And then of course you still have to hold down the page that the paperweight isn’t on. Every time it happens you think it’d be great if you had a clear paperweight, that was book-sized; capable of holding down both sides of the book but still allowing you to read every line. Meet Book On Book, the reading accessory you’ve been dreaming off.

Designed by Japanese design duo Masayuki Haruta and Ryosaku Aoki, who together form thecompany Tent, Book On Book is a transparent acrylic book guard and paperweight, designed to not only keep your book open to the right page, but also to protect its pages from stains. Shaped like an open book, Book On Book is the perfect size for whatever book you’re reading, and at 5mm thick- no everyday force of wind will be capable of overpowering it. In addition, at $63 dollars, it’s also an impressive design piece that can be used to display a prized page from your favorite book.
