East Village Transformed Into A Foodie Party For The Longest Day Of The Year
Thrillist plan to takeover the NYC neighborhood and turn shops into retails experiences for the annual solstice.
Lifestyle and events website Thrillist has big plans for June 21st, the 2nd annual national holiday and the summer solstice, which means it’s going to the longest day of the year. The company are taking over a dozen well-known locations around New York and transforming them into one-day-only experiences not to be missed.
Titled ‘Best Day of Your Life’ (don’t forget the hashtag #BDOYL), the events are mainly within the East Village area and are set to focus on food, drink and special surprise events that Thrillist are keeping a secret until the second they happen.
With #BDOYL, the team aim to bring to life the brand’s positive mantra aesthetic by showcasing the best underground spots in the village and offering offbeat food & drink menus and unique experiences for everyone to enjoy. The events throughout the day are going to be a surprise however the website has given eager visitors a taster of what could possibly be there. Think whiskey tasting, alcoholic lemonade and popsicles, biscuit sandwiches, off-menu tacos and bacon-covered chicken nuggets.
Thrillist Media Group co-founder and CEO Ben Lerer explains,
Thrillist has been telling guys about how to live the most fun lives possible for nearly a decade – and this event is a physical manifestation of that – by cramming as much fun into daylight hours as possible. We can’t wait for our guys to come out and see what we’re all about with the best day of their lives.
