Christian Siriano, Verizon Debut Dress Constructed from Tweets
Purported first-ever #socialimprint garments designed using real-time social conversation
Project Runway alum Christian Siriano teamed up with Verizon to create a fashion statement for the digital age: one curated out of tweets. Making fashion history, the designer created two one-of-a-kind garments inspired by the social conversation taking place in real time during Fashion Rocks. The #socialimprint dress and cape were designed by fans around the world who posted to Twitter using the event’s hashtag and symbols.
On Sept. 9, some of the most influential artists including Jennifer Hudson, Nicki Minaj and Kiss came together to perform in the annual charity fundraiser. The fusion of fashion and music live on stage is a unique social experiment in and of itself, and continues to innovate each year. This year in particular, Verizon hosted the social conversation and turned the comments into unique fabric.
