Estonian design shop makes personal grooming look vintage

There are clocks, plates and cat toys that pay homage to vinyl records as a medium, so it’s certainly not too far a stretch to hear that Estonia-based Upstairs Shop is recycling vinyl records and reincarnating them as combs.

Made by product designer Pavel Sidorenko and graphic designer / ceramist Maria Sidorenko, the Grably is the latest creation from the duo’s well-designed object and reuse obsessions.

“Throwaway-ism is so prevalent in contemporary culture – we are advocates of saving up for the piece that you love – these pieces will last a life-time and will be passed down to younger generations,” the Sidorenkos explains. “Also we just love idea of reusing materials and sustainable design.”
