The emirate's law enforcement is embracing lavish opportunities in high-end tech

The relationship between technology and security has always been a double-edged sword. On the one hand, technology enhances the resilience and reliability of safety services, but it can also be excessive. Dubai's police force has recently been getting coverage on the web for introducing Google Glass software as part of the law enforcement toolkit. Last year, similar news made headlines when the emirate announced they would be equipping their police with $400,000 Lamborghinis sports cars.

The software developed by Dubai police force enables them to do a variety of things including issue fines to motorists, identify cars/faces, retrieve directions, capture and upload audio/video content to their internal database, check email…etc.
