Terma Design Awards showcases radiators that add character to a room

Radiators, while incredibly important for the impending cold evenings, are traditionally clunky, dangerously hot to the touch, and an unappealing use of valuable floor space. In preparation for winter, Polish designers at the Łódź Design Festival exhibited beautiful reinventions of the radiator as a minimal, industrial centerpiece for the room.

The exhibit, entitled Terma Design – the future of heating, was sponsored by Polish radiator manufacturer Terma and showcased 15 radiator redesigns. The exhibit was divided into two sections: Now displayed eight radiators currently manufactured by Terma, while Future presented seven designs submitted by individual Polish artists. Artists were selected through the Terma Design Awards—an annual competition of creative home heating products.
