Kickstarted tablet accessory turns the tiny screen into a high-quality theater sound system

This month's hot iPad Kickstarter accessory is Amp: a sleek docking station that holds your tablet at a viewable angle while connecting it via bluetooth to a set of theater-quality speakers. The end result is watching streamed or saved video as you have for years now, without having to turn off all your appliances to hear the dialogue.

The speakers are of the same quality as other bluetooth speaker sets, and arranged to fold into a protective case for a docked iPad Air. They're set to the left and right of the screen to take advantage of stereo sound. The rechargeable battery has a nominal 7-hour life. That's three movies and an episode of Big Bang Theory before you have to plug back in. Construction is with resin fibers with honeycomb acoustic panels.
