In Brief

This dainty tea brewer allows you to enjoy a freshly brewed beverage anytime

While coffee remains the morning beverage of the get-up-and-go businessperson in the U.S., tea carries a connotation of leisure, a drink for slower times. In part, that’s because it takes time to brew and cool (especially at the specialized temperatures that really expert tea preparation demands). Infuser cups have made the tea-making process somewhat more portable (more portable than coffee typically, in fact), they don’t solve the original problem of heating the water, and they’ve never been the true tea-drinker’s favorite because they’re usually mated to a single, awkwardly-shaped mug. Enter the Mychai, a compact portable tea maker designed by Uttara Ghodke, a young, female Indian industrial designer who was educated at the MIT Institute of Design.
