Bike Wheels Carved from Ice to Navigate Glacial Terrains

British maker creates a new form of extreme sports for creative types

As the winter continues to close in on the Northern hemisphere, one British maker has decided to put his ice sculpting skills to the test. Colin Furze recently created the “Ice Bike,” which features carved blocks of ice as wheels. While it doesn’t do so well on paved roads, the bike is perfect for riding through arctic terrain that would be completely inaccessible for a traditional two-wheeler.
