Electrolux Design Lab Finalists Unveiled
Appliances brand wants to make these futuristic concepts a possibility
It’s rare that an appliance manufacturer is fully conscious of the future, looking toward the conveniences of tomorrow rather than simply planning to manufacture the same devices they’re comfortable with year after year. But Electrolux is different, with a program called the Electrolux Design Lab. Each year, a group of six young designers is selected by the appliance manufacturer as having possibly invented the Newest Big Thing. On Nov. 12, one will be offered a long-term internship and flown to Paris to celebrate. Each year carries a different theme, with this year’s being culinary enjoyment, fabric care and purification.
