FreeConvo is a cause that encourages you to strike up conversation with strangers

Despite the number of people living in big cities around the country, it can often be hard to make new connections and uncover the local community. One solution is FreeConvo, a social movement which sets up places for people of all backgrounds to meet in public places and build spontaneous communities. Apart from new friends, it's an amazing way to open your mind through hearing stories about topics like entrepreneurship, love, traveling, friendship, and pursuing your dreams.

Described on their website as a “community center for modern fast paced society,” FreeConvo first started in New York City, but has since expanded to Los Angeles, San Francisco and London. Run by a group of committed volunteers, the movement has been described by some fans as responsible for “Bringing back the art of conversation,” and even “Changing the world one conversation at a time.”
