Could your next training event be on a sailing ship or deserted island?

The world is in a constant state of flux, which means at any given time there are countless buildings and venues that lie empty and unused. To try and remedy this problem, a Japanese startup called Spacemarket has created a place where businesses can find venue locations unlike any other. Some of the offerings so far include unused sailing vessels, heliports, baseball grounds, traditional Japanese homes in historic villages, and even a deserted island.

Spacemarket currently provides more than 775 spaces for business to use, which can be used for meetings, training courses, creative getaways, and just about anything else you could think of. In addition to partnerships with Japanese development companies, the startup recently acquired 100 million yen ($936,000) of funding from CyberAgent Ventures and Mizuho Capital.
