With $13 million in venture capital funding, this start-up will create devices that can change your mood via Bluetooth

Thync is a wearable device that will send currents to targeted parts of your brain to alter your mood. It has two main modes of function: as energy drink substitute or to induce a calmness.

Kevin Bullis from Technology Review tried the latter and shares:

When I tried it, I felt relaxed but also clearheaded—more as if I’d meditated or received a good massage than had a couple of drinks. The effect took a few minutes to kick in, but then it lasted for about 45 minutes—although I’m told that varies from person to person.
