Immersing Shoppers in Product Experiences to Push Sales [Future of Retail]
PSFK’s 2015 Future Of Retail Report asks retailers to leverage their physical presence to offer immersive product experiences.
Even though online retail accounted for $263.3 billion in 2013, it still made up less than 6% of total retail. That is to say, despite the overall growth in e-commerce, physical stores are far from dead. While consumers can find virtually any product online and cheaper, stores need to consider what they can offer shoppers that cannot be replicated virtually. PSFK challenged retailers to think about not only what they offer, but also how they offer it in order to sell “Experiences, Not Products.”
