NYC Gives $3.5M for Brooklyn Fashion Incubator
Brooklyn is set to become even more fashionable with a new 160,000-sq foot facility
Customers are now buying more Made-in-America clothes that are of good quality and more importantly, help revive the once booming New York garment manufacturing industry. NYC is extending a helping hand to the tune of $3.5 million for a 160,000-square foot facility in Brooklyn to hasten re-shoring.
The venue will be housed in privately-run Liberty View Industrial Plaza in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
The construction will begin in February around the same time as New York Fashion Week. Creatives at Ole Sondresen Architect, the same agency behind the Etsy and Kickstarter offices both in Brooklyn, will make sure the space is chic and ready to house up to 50 designers and 30 businesses.
