Emergency rescue equipment earns design distinction as convenient and affordable safety product

For the sake of their safety, Dutch water enthusiasts have less to fear than in the past. The Rescue Tip-Board, a new design in emergency rescue offers a lightweight, convenient device to assist drowning victims from shallow waters or ice.

The inflatable, stable life-board looks like a normal white-water raft and operates similar to a see-saw, tiling downwards to leverage people out of the water and onto the device. Created by a team from Spark Design, the boat allows rescuers to stand on its flat section, lean backwards and pull the victim to safety. The rescuer can interact without feeling invasive during a potentially traumatic experience.
