Anti-capitalism board game lets players race to the bottom

In hard times, it’s often the satirists who make the most cutting points. This is evidenced today by the popularity of comedic news programs like The Daily Show and Last Week Tonight. Comedy website Us Vs Th3m has thrown its own entry into the list: a board game that satires and calls attention to the growing gap between the haves and have-nots in 21st century capitalist societies.

AUSTERITY! looks like a Monopoly board, and has similar rules, but the game play has a telling difference. When play begins, one player is named the “BOSS” (according to the rules, this goes to the person in the game with the most inherited wealth) and all others are named “PLEBS.”
