Blackberry hopes to reinvigorate their messaging system by syncing with Android wearables

Miss the nostalgic “ping” of receiving a BBM, the original messaging system on Blackberry devices? Well, you can now find it on your wearable devices. Hoping to revive interest in their BBM platform, and brand as a whole, Blackberry has partnered with Android wearables to sync its popular messaging service with smartwatches.

At CES 2015, the BBM team announced “BBM for Android Wear,” which will make certain features of BlackBerry messaging available on Android-supported smartwatches. These include the ability to read new messages, review and accept contact invites, search past conversations, and respond to messages using pre-defined responses or voice-activated Google Now.
