Group of government officials, scholars, and chefs have developed a machine that aims to standardize Thai cuisine worldwide

To promote authenticity in Thai dishes around the world, the government-sponsored Thai Delicious Committee has developed an intelligent robot that measures the smell and taste of the popular ethnic food.

The e-delicious machine electronically smells and tastes the food, producing a chemical description that is then compared to what is considered the “authentic standard” for Thai cuisine and rated on a scale of 1 to 100.

Thai food can be enjoyed in a number of different ways with a variety of spices, vegetables, and meats, but the committee is establishing these general standards based off a broad number of taste tests and databases constructed from actual Thai preferences.
