Catalog Hacker Gets Job As IKEA’s Children’s Illustrator
Sarah Horne's comic creatures get invited to the table
It’s rare that an illustrator’s passion project becomes useful to the brands it’s about or that it includes. But that’s precisely what happened to Sarah Horne, a UK-based illustrator who, for fun, started adding the fantastical creatures onto photographs from an IKEA catalog. Her favorite subjects have included dragons, fairies, yetis and bigfoot, all sitting down to some fantastical dinners.
But then the Sweden-based company discovered her experiments – and asked if she would like to be IKEA’s first ever ‘Children’s Illustrator in Residence.’
