Illustrated children's apps celebrate unstructured play

Though those who are reading this probably don’t know it, but there’s an entire cohort of contemporary parents who are relieved that their young children can get a fun, educational experience when they can’t attend to them every second. But they are also concerned about their children’s well-being and learning – as well as the irritating noises the games often make, which can be a nuisance in public places.

Though plenty of children’s apps, such as Barbie Plastic Surgery, are obnoxious, some are beautiful, and Miximal and Drawnimal, two apps developed by YATATOY’s Lucas Zanotto, are a prime example, providing both soothing eye candy and unstructured entertainment for young children. And as one app store reviewer raved, “No bleating noises. Okay for use on planes and restaurants”!
