Artist-musician PJ Harvey's project 'Recording in Progress' will see her record her ninth album inside an architectural installation at Somerset House

Artist PJ Harvey has conceived a new project, which will see her in a specially-made recording studio that will enable fans to witness the creative process in person as she records her ninth album. The exhibition ‘Recording in Progress' marks an innovative way to offer transparency as part of the music recording process.

Harvey is well known for her powerful lyrics, and was awarded an MBE for services to music in 2013. She has also recently become known for her poetry and enjoys painting, drawing and sculpting. This exhibition, commissioned and produced by Artangel and Somerset House, is a combination of these creative forms and transforms the process of album-making into a public art installation.
