Cartoon content pack will be released for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the hugely popular video game

Upcoming downloadable content will bring iconic characters from The Simpsons to the open-world sandbox video game Minecraft. The content pack is being launched by Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products and Xbox, and will be released for Minecraft Xbox 360 and Xbox One editions in late February.

This announcement brings together two cultural phenomenons enjoyed by people of all ages. The Simpsons is the longest-running scripted show in TV history, currently airing its 26th season. The hugely popular game Minecraft has had over 100 million downloads since its launch in 2009 and was acquired by Microsoft in September for $2.5 billion, which explains why this DLC is first heading to Microsoft’s Xbox consoles before other platforms.
