Pop-Up Store Pioneers: How Temporary Retail Experiences Create Long-Term Value
Storefront founders present their retail marketplace and dissect the value of unique and adaptable experiences
Tristan Pollock and Erik Eliason co-founded their online real estate rental marketplace Storefront in 2012 in order to democratize access to pop-up spaces for retailers.
At PSFK’s Future of Retail event in San Francisco, they shared their thoughts on the resurgence of physical retail and the importance for brands to connect with consumers in a physical setting.
Storefront started when the pair tried to help a friend find a space for her online jewelry business. After numerous calls and emails with real estate owners, they decided there had to be a better way. This experience was the impetus that inspired Storefront. With one in 10 stores lying vacant, Storefront hopes to become the Airbnb of pop-up stores connecting those looking for space with those who own unused spaces.
