Entry into the open source Paperhouses project combines house with urban boat

Environmental and economic policy is complex, nuanced and hard to understand. That said, there is a simple truth that drives much of both in this century: there are more people than ever before, and we will continue to make still more people for at least the next three decades. Because of this, the search for innovative and affordable housing in areas of high population density is growing in importance and momentum.

Architect Joana Pacheco started the open source “Paperhouses” projects as an invitation for other engineers, designers and architects to contribute solutions to this problem. Carl Turner’s recent entry may be the most innovative yet.
