By building an ereader into mobile phone, YotaPhone 2 could be bigger threat to Kindle than fabled iPhone

The first product to really put epaper in front of consumers in a big way was the Amazon Kindle. First released in 2007, most people who don’t own a Kindle still don’t understand why a Kindle and an iPad (or an ereader and a tablet) just aren’t the same thing at all.

The YotaPhone 2’s epaper side can display information constantly at a fraction of the expense to your battery that the LED uses (like with a tablet). That display also won’t glow up on your face obnoxiously in low light situations either. It’s the sleeker, updated version of a phone we wrote about in 2012. The Android phone also has an LED side, for when you want that functionality.
