Photo book blends architecture and yoga to challenge how urban space develops

Architect, athlete and yogi Anja Humljan is exploring the way we design urban environments with The Urban Yoga Project. Her architectural and photo experiment was recently documented in a book of photographs where she held different yoga and dance poses to fully experience urban spaces through her body and senses.

Humljan explains her objective:

The aim of The Urban Yoga photo book is to ensure that architecture will continue not only to provide the world with pragmatic buildings or on the contrary buildings which are visually stunning but functionally useless, but to design with human in mind: to express fundamental truths of the human condition, including our dreams, imagination, and desires: not just those of the designers themselves, but also of those who use these structures on a daily basis.
