IFTTT's one-tap buttons trigger any action or service from your smartphone

With the ubiquitous IFTTT—short for if this, then that—connection you can control the Internet of Things around you. The connection platform empowers users to manage the apps and products of their everyday lives. Now, the web service has introduced a new class of apps (Do, Camera, Note) that allows users to take any desired action at the tap of a button.

New featured actions — known as ‘Recipes’— are one-tap commands to control your home and quantify your life. To use the new Recipe functions, you’ll need to install the app and create personalized buttons; Set your living room thermostat, upload pictures to Dropbox, close the garage door and share a Twitter status all through the one-touch service command.
