A promotional video for Nissan’s electric car LEAF hints that it one day may come in a new color option: glow-in-the-dark. The video, which is intended to highlight how the car is helping consumers convert to solar energy at home, shows a glowing Nissan LEAF gliding down dark streets. It is a physical emblem of the harnessed solar energy that powers the vehicle.

While glow-in-the-dark paint and wraps already exist for automobiles, Nissan reached out to inventor Hamish Scott, owner of Pro-Teq Surfacing, to create a glowing paint that was organic, keeping it in line with the green ethos of LEAF.
