Skate brand launches Vans Custom Culture, a competition that promotes creativity amongst the youth via inspired kicks

Vans Custom Culture is an initiative set up six years ago that encourages high school students to be as creative as possible and think outside the box when it comes to shoe design.

The first 3,000 high schools to sign up receive four of the brand's most iconic styles that have been stripped back to white, offering a blank canvas for the students to use as inspiration. When thinking about their representation of the cult shoe, entrants are asked to focus on four themes: Art, Music, Action Sports and Local Flavor.
