Service Connects Travelers with Local Home-Cooked Meals
Student project AirBites proposes delicious way to connect while traveling
AirBites is a new contender in the travel services market that wants to do with food what AirBnB did with accommodations.
Though discovering new foods and restaurants is one of the joys of travel, it can also be one of the largest risks with hazards ranging from a disappointing snack to serious tummy trouble. AirBites wants to take some of the guesswork out by connecting users with locals who invite them into their homes for homemade meals.
AirBites is a proposed concept based directly on the model of AirBnB. The platform would allow two user experiences. Hosts can post a profile of their location and the specifics of the meals they offer. Travelers can browse those profiles and choose a place to taste authentic local food with guidance from a knowledgeable guide.
