Day & Night Light taps design to solve widespread health issue

Dutch designer Eléonore Delisse has created a light to combat symptoms of seasonal affective disorder (SAD), a cyclical form of depression. The Day & Night Light is a lamp that oscillates and changes over a 24-hour cycle to coordinate with the human circadian rhythm.

Unlike many lamps or light therapy boxes created to help SAD sufferers, the Day & Night Light is a timepiece that considers how different colors of light affect the body in different ways. It’s made of dichroic glass that produces colors by rotating above the light.
