Play Music By Pointing Your Phone at Oranges
The Bug app uses your camera to register colors and plays a corresponding sound—we put it to the test
iPhone users, now you can really stick it to the Androids thanks to new app Bug. Produced by Linked By Air, this fun little gizmo works by using your phone or tablet’s camera to register the color of an item it’s pointed at, then reproducing a corresponding pitch.
The app replays tones as you tap your screen, or hold your finger down to shift the pitch gradually. Symphonies abound!
According to the team behind it: “Bug makes each color of the spectrum correspond to a musical tone. Red is the lowest note because it is the lowest frequency color. Violet is the highest note because it’s the highest frequency color that we can see.”
