Swedish five-piece John Moose are pre-releasing their debut album in a geo-specific way that suits their music

The Swedish band John Moose is pre-releasing their debut album via mobile app. It is free for anyone to download and enjoy but there is one condition: the user must be in the woods in order to listen to the music.

This unique limitation is fitting for the five-piece band with roots in the deep wild woods of Värmland in Sweden. It also matches their music's theme of the human connection with nature.

John Moose is the name of the main character in the stories the band tell through their songs. These are tales of escapism, where the protagonist finds himself stuck in the ambivalence between civilization and its counterpart. The album tells a story about this alter ego deciding to leave civilization for isolation, so it is rather fitting to pre-release the album in the woods.
