Bina48 is not so much a sentient robot as "she" is a sensitive one

Bina48 is an android that learns from the mannerisms, beliefs and even memories of Bina Rothblatt. She can hold a conversation with interviewers, and answer questions on social media according to “intelligent, feeling, aware” software.

Bina48 stands for Breakthrough Intelligence via Neural Architecture 48. For now, the robot consists of shoulders and a head with 32 facial motors beneath rubber skin that can make 64 different facial expressions.

The expressions add another dimension of communication to her suite of speech recognition, microphones, natural language processing, semantic computing and text-to-speech apps.
