March Madness Scissors Were Made from Gold Titanium
Fiskars made a super-special edition for this year's championship games, not available for sale
Scissors maker Fiskars partnered with NCAA Basketball for the seventh consecutive time this year, making themselves the Official Scissors of the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships.
In case you’re thinking this is yet another random, ridiculous sponsorship—like making Top Ramen the “official ramen partner” of the National Hot Dog Eating Championships—think again. Fiskars provided the official net-cutting scissors for the game.
The scissors, each a special edition with serrated, gold titanium blades etched with the NCAA logo, are used in the post-game net-cutting ceremonies for the Final Four and championship games in the Division I games for men and women, and the Championship games for men and women in divisions II and III. The ceremony, as you might suspect, involves cutting down the game net at the end of play.
